During the past Workshop-Tours in 2009, 2010 and 2011 Serrinha and Chris held workshops in a lot of different cities all over Europe (Paris, Vienna, Bologna, Budapest, Tours, Rotterdamm, Berlin etc.) and will conitue this "tradition" in spring 2012.

In this team-workshops Serrinha will be teaching especially the Caixas and Surdos, while Chris is taking care of the Repiques, Tamborins and Chocalhos.

Serrinha is the caixa director of the sambaschool Estácio de Sá, leads his own carnival bloco in Rio de Janeiro and is a well known percussionist in various "rodas de samba". He is widely known as one of "the best" caixa players in Rio de Janeiro, and he is a very nice person with a modest character. He is used to give workshops for "gringos", therefore he is perfect for teaching both, beginners and experienced sambistas.
Chris travels to Rio every year during the carnival season and since 2004 he has played the tamborim at Unidos da Tijuca. Further information about Chris can be found here.

In 2009 Serrinha and Chris developed a unique system together to lead workshops by. Attention will be focussed on developing the special techniques of the different instruments.

The workshop aim and content will be considered separately to suit the styles and demands of each band.
